TESTIMONIALS
I LOVE how DIY Bookkeeping makes it easy to break down each step of a larger process into manageable chunks. The ability to help me understand and relate everyday transactions to components in one comprehensive system that output so much relevant business information is mind boggling, but DIY Bookkeeping along with QuickBooks software help me accomplish that. Thank you!
While I do not file my own business taxes I do find it very rewarding to do my own bookkeeping. There’s something about being in contact with those numbers as I enter and interact with them. The amounts, what they’re for, puts me in the mindset of questioning them as I go along. Do I really need this? Can I get rid of this? What was this for? As the business owner, I know what I’ve purchased and so if there are things that should not be there, I get to jump on resolving them right away. The bookkeeper most likely will just record them because they look legit just as any other transactions, but I know what should and shouldn’t be there. Let me tell you, I struggled with QuickBooks! I do not have the Accounting background so I was just downloading transactions and just putting them where I thought they should go. My CPA was not happy at all. He recommended I get some training or hire a bookkeeper, and after asking him if he knew any reputable place I could get the training, he sent me to DIY Bookkeeping with Marie and I’m so glad he did 🙂 I now know how to differentiate and record assets vs liabilities vs expense vs income. I also learned how to group my customer payments using the undeposited funds feature so I can have a smooth reconciliation process. This 1 hour QuickBooks training worked for me immensely, and I highly recommend you take this training if you want to learn how to do your bookkeeping (correctly) so you and your tax person can have accurate information from which to make better business decision and file your taxes come year end.
This QuickBooks training gave me the confidence to do my own bookkeeping (using a real bookkeeping software). At first I started out using excel sheets and God knows excel has its purpose but bookkeeping is certainly not one of them. Then I hired a part-time bookkeeper, and although I got reports at the end of each month, I wasn’t getting real time information plus my bookkeeper was recording everything and not catching transactions that were not authorized by me, and thus not legit. Long and short, I decided to try and do it myself, and failed miserably, so I went looking for some training help and found this DIY Bookkeeping website. And I am happy I did. I’m interacting with my numbers, catching and stopping errors in their track, and most of all – I’m able to pull multiple essential business reports, and my tax pro loves the new, clean, accurate, timely reports I submit to him at the end of each year. #WinWin. This is way too long but I have to let you know how grateful I am I found this DIY Bookkeeping Training. Thanks a million!
They say Wave is limiting, but it’s just enough for me. When I started my business back in 2014, I barely had enough funds to spend on my startup supplies, let alone bookkeeping. So I went in search of a free bookkeeping solution and found Wave and I’ve been using it ever since. But I did not know anything about bookkeeping or accounting, and after trying to figure it out, I knew I had to get some help to ensure I’m not making a mess of my books. That’s when I found DIY Bookkeeping With Wave training which was the only Wave training available then. Wave is simple, gives me the exact reports I need and I’m grateful for the training that was so thorough, yet easy to understand. I’m saving on bookkeeping costs, and it takes only a few minutes each day to get my accounts all updated in Wave accounting system. Thank you DIY Bookkeeping for this very necessary training. I’m not cheap, just frugal 😊.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
I’ve recommended this QuickBooks training to every business owner I know. I am so much more confident in my business, I feel lighter, and I sleep better at nights. I’m not exaggerating! Thank you for going the extra mile to answer my follow up questions as well. Appreciate you a ton!
Thank you for your introduction to Wave, and for helping me learn how to use it. It’s simple, very user-friendly, and does everything I need in a jiffy. I’ve been intimidated by software for the longest while and refused to use anything but my excel sheets. Well, thanks to my CPA and his (not so gentle) nudge, I came looking for help and found you. Now if only I had known using a software would be this easy I would have saved myself and my CPA a lot of headache.
I’m pretty good with developing programs and systems and using a lot I haven’t developed but for some reason when it came to using a bookkeeping and accounting software I cower. I think the reason is I am afraid to screw up my numbers. I’ve heard of situations where penalties are charged and also where incorrect numbers lead to incorrect filing and over or underpayment of taxes. Could go either way. You may be asking why not just hire a bookkeeper or outsource your bookkeeping, which is quite reasonable. Except I’m a small company with few transactions and like to be in control of my financials. In any event, I was recommended (more like told) to use QuickBooks by my CPA and found this training online. And I am intimidated no more! This training is broken down into bite sized pieces so to speak, and because it’s a live training you get to have any questions you have answered before the training is over. So yes, I unequivocally recommend this DIY QuickBooks training.
I knew it would be an easy walk in the park for me getting my bookkeeping done – once I understood the basic accounting jargon that goes along with bookkeeping and how it all interacts with the software to output what we need. As a business owner I understand that there is no way to know everything but also that it is important to know the basics of the relevant parts that funnel the business. I’m sure as I grow I will hire a bookkeeper but by then I will have already known what is taking place with my books and how to generate all the relevant reports I depend on to help keep my business trending upwards. I decided to use QuickBooks Online because of its versatility in that it integrates with many apps I use and it is also accessible to multiple people simultaneously, regardless of where they are located. The training was thorough and at the end of it I felt confident enough to get started on doing my own bookkeeping. If you are contemplating using QuickBooks, I highly recommend you get this DIY training.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS ARE SAYING
I chose this QuickBooks training because it’s a) only 1 hour (short attention span), and b) it’s one on one – no grouping (laser focused) and did you deliver! Your way of teaching worked so well with me, I was able to grasp every aspect and feel confident enough that I would be able to do my own bookkeeping accurately, and I am. It’s been a little over a year now, and I gotta tell you, every time I run those reports that are so super insightful, I think about you and how much you have helped me and my business. It takes me approximately 10 – 15 minutes each day to get my books updated and approximately 10 minutes to reconcile my bank and credit card accounts and close out the period each month. Using excel for my bookkeeping had me missing out on vital information, and if I may speak to your future clients who are looking for answers about how to handle their bookkeeping, please get your training here! If you are going to use QuickBooks software, get the training here so you can learn to do your bookkeeping accurately and using minimum time. Thank you DIY!
You have been a rescue for us here at Brooks Investment and we appreciate you. Like myself, many small business owners are lacking the resources to employ help for the myriad of things that need to get done in our business, and we usually tend to slight the bookkeeping aspect because – well, not all of us like keeping books and not all of us know how to do it properly and of course we don’t believe it is anywhere near being the most important “to do” in our business. As a result, we end up either not getting it done at all (which makes us miss out on pertinent stats that could really help our business) or we take a try and do it incorrectly (which will continue to give us inaccurate reports and thus possible false security). I was doing it, alright? And I thought it would be simple since I’m a numbers guy, but I’ve come to realize that bookkeeping is more than just entering data, it is also knowing where to input the data so that it outputs the right information in the right places on the reports. Long and short, I was doing it wrong! My CPA was not happy but thankfully, he was patient and knowledgable about where to go get help. Yes, he sent me here, and I am glad I came. I’m now using QuickBooks like a pro! Our books are done seamlessly each month and the reports we are able to generate are priceless. We could not have done it without your help. Thank you!
